As a Registered Veterinary Technician and aspiring dog behaviorist, April K. is passionate about the work of the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center (BRC), where she serves as a foster parent and volunteer. In December 2019, April offered to foster a recent graduate—rescued dog Binney—from the program.

This week, we are shining an extra special spotlight on two fabulous pit bulls! Meet Max and Tony! These two pups are each looking for homes to call their own and adopters who will love them for who they are. 

In mid-April, as New York City was just three weeks into its COVID-19 shutdown, Officer Chris Tansey of NYPD’s 48^th Precinct followed up on a report that several pit bulls had been abandoned in the basement of a building in the Bronx. There, they found several dogs in unsanitary conditions.

It was a typical, warm July fourth evening in Los Angeles County with sporadic fireworks popping overhead.
