Have you heard about The Rescue Effect? When a pet leaves the shelter through adoption or fostering, space and resources open up to give more animals a chance. Help one, help many — that’s The Rescue Effect.

To celebrate The Rescue Effect this summer, we are shining a light on a few animals from our facilities across the country who are looking for loving homes! These adorable cats and dogs are available in New York City and Columbus, Ohio.

If you’re not in a position to adopt, you can still participate in The Rescue Effect by sharing this page with friends and family, or by looking into fostering or adopting at your local shelter. Learn more about how to participate in The Rescue Effect today, or scroll down to learn more about our furry friends who are eager to meet someone like you!

Dogs and Cats Available for Adoption in the Tri-state Area

Delilah

A drawing of a brown dog

Delilah is a true sweetheart, and everyone at the Adoption Center is a big fan of hers! She’s a big girl, which just means she has plenty of love to share with all of her friends. Walks with Delilah are quite leisurely — she’s the type who enjoys smelling the flowers along the way. She also loves playing with her toys and enjoys a tasty treat (or two)! Her portrait is cute (it was created by an ASPCA staff member who hopes that Delilah finds the paw-fect match) but we promise she’s even cuter in person! Visit Delilah’s profile to find out how to meet her.

Vermouth

This little lady is sure to charm you! Vermouth may just peek her head around the corner when she first meets you, but she’ll head right over for some treats or toys. She may also do well with another cat in the home, especially if they are social and confident. Are you ready to meet sweet Vermouth? Check out her profile!

Corona

Nothing slows down this regal cat! Corona is a confident guy ready to be the king of his future home. He is a three-legged cat, but he gets around easily, including the occasional zoomies. Corona is as handsome as he is unique, and is eager to cuddle up with a family of his own. Learn more on Corona’s profile!
