Adopt a Shelter Dog Month Is Coming to a Close — Meet Your BFF!

The last two weeks of October are here, and we hope you’ll take the time to celebrate Adopt a Shelter Dog Month with us! If you are considering adopting a dog, we encourage you to adopt from one of our programs. We’ve featured some of our favorite adoptable canine companions below, so take a look!

We are also wrapping up The Rescue Effect campaign this month. By adopting just one animal from a shelter, you are helping to save the lives of many more! Every time a pet leaves the shelter through adoption or fostering, space and resources open up to help other animals in need. Help one, help many — that’s The Rescue Effect.

We’ve teamed up with our friends at Walker’s Shortbread to spread the word about The Rescue Effect! Together, we’re shining a light on dogs from our facilities across the country, and one of them might just be the right fit for your home. Ansel

This loyal boy is eager to meet you! Ansel is all about making friendships. He is a big fan of going on walks with his people, getting some tasty treats and asking for lots of pets. Lee is a gorgeous girl with the cutest crinkled ears! Whenever she meets someone new, she shows off her excitement with full-body wiggles. Hamhock

No one loves chasing after toys like Hamhock! This playful girl is all about a rousing game of fetch, especially with her favorite squeaky toys. Her big, goofy smile is quite contagious! If you aren’t ready to adopt this month, you can also consider becoming a foster! Foster caregivers make a major difference for animals in need. Dogs like these greatly benefit from spending time out of the shelter and in foster homes.
