Friends in the Columbus area—Dallas needs your help! This adorable guy is in need of a temporary foster home as he recovers from surgery. Our team at the ASPCA Cruelty Recovery Center (CRC) will provide you with all the supplies needed to take care of him. All he needs from you is some space to rest and lots of love!

When two-year-old Dallas came to us at the CRC, he was slightly overweight and suffered a torn ligament while running around. He will soon be getting surgery to repair the ligament in his leg, and he will need about four to six weeks to recover from the procedure. The best place for him to heal up would be in a quiet foster home—hopefully yours!

While Dallas recovers, he will need to take it easy, getting lots of rest and minimal exercise. That won’t be a problem for him because he’s happy to just be a couch potato! Dallas would likely be a very easygoing houseguest.

Dallas’ ideal foster home would be one without other dogs. He has played with some of our other dogs, but since he can be particular with his dog friends, it would be easiest to avoid dog socialization while he heals. He also needs a home where he can stay on the ground level, as he won’t be allowed to climb flights of stairs during the recovery period. A few steps up to the first floor is fine—just no second-story living for Dallas until he’s fully healed!

If you’d like to make a new furry friend for a few weeks, and you have the time and love to give him, please fill out a foster application to sign up to foster Dallas!

If you don’t live in the Columbus area but are interested in lending a helping paw to an animal in need, you can also foster for the ASPCA in Weaverville, North CarolinaNew York City and Los Angeles (cat fosters only).
