Looking for the best way to get involved this GivingTuesday? Celebrated globally, GivingTuesday is the biggest giving of the year, and the great thing about this day is that there are SO MANY ways to give back. We may be a little biased, but we think helping animals in need is the number one way to go!

There’s more than one way to help animals, so here’s a list of the top five actions you can take today to make a difference this year!

1. Make a lifesaving donation for animals or donate vital supplies directly to ASPCA programs nationwide!

Your generous donation helps us continue to be there for the animals who need us most. It’s support from friends like you that makes it possible for us to rescue, protect and care for animals from natural disasters, cruelty and neglect.

Earlier this year, we launched ASPCA Wish Lists, a new tool that makes it easier than ever to donate supplies directly to our programs across the U.S. to help aid in the care and enrichment of the animals we serve!

2. Adopt a pet!

Animals all across the country are looking for safe and loving homes and YOU can be the one to finally make their dreams come true. Find your new best friend at the ASPCA through our locations in California, New York, North Carolina or Ohio, our friends at Animal Care Centers of New York City or at your local shelter!

3. Start your very own social media fundraiser.

Create your own Facebook® or Instagram® Fundraiser benefitting the ASPCA for GivingTuesday!

Facebook has a guided setup to walk you through the process, and even allows you to add your own text, dedication and photo. Instagram has step-by-step instructions on how to set up your fundraiser and will even help you post a link to your fundraiser in your bio.

On both Facebook and Instagram, you can set a goal for the amount of money you’d like to raise. Regardless of your goal, any amount is not only appreciated, but helps us continue our lifesaving work for vulnerable animals nationwide. Get started ahead of time on Facebook or Instagram!

4. Become a foster caregiver or sign up to volunteer at an animal shelter near you!

Our fosters and volunteers are critical when it comes to giving animals in need second chances. If you live in the Los AngelesColumbus, OhioAsheville, North Carolina or New York City areas, you can sign up today to become an ASPCA foster caregiver or volunteer! Not in any of these areas? You can still help animals in need by fostering or volunteering at your local shelter.

You can help end factory farming and build a more humane, sustainable and fair food system. Use our updated shopping list for food and help us continue to fight for a better world for farmed animals.
