An award-winning smile, goofy antics that make everyone laugh and abounding energy that goes on for days—with all that said, how can you resist Canello? This sweet but sometimes shy boy checks so many “good boy” boxes. He’s looking for an adopter who can give him some positive reinforcement training to help him check off the rest! Could that be you?

Big fan of: Playtime! There’s no brighter twinkle in the world than the one in Canello’s eye when he spots a toy. Tennis balls, rope toys or plush toys—Canello enjoys them all! But his absolute favorite is undoubtedly the squeaky toy. During playtime, it’s unmistakably clear how much Canello adores grabbing one in his mouth and shaking it back and forth as hard as he can! And, Canello loves involving his humans in the games too. A little reserved at first, Canello can be shy around strangers. But, just give him a little time! Once he’s comfortable, Canello turns into the epitome of a lap dog. When he plops down on top of you, Canello gets so excited that he physically can’t contain himself and wiggles all over the place with a big grin on his face!

Working on: Reigning in his excitement! Canello truly is a happy guy, and he enjoys showing that side of himself off more than anything. Sometimes Canello gets so enthralled with all the exiting things around him that he forgets his manners. With human friends he tends to jump up, and while out for walks—which he’s a massive fan of—he likes to grab at his leash. However, Canello is a smart pup who is easily redirected with “sit” and a tasty treat. He would thrive with some positive reinforcement training to help him hone his manners!

Dream home: Canello can be a lot of dog, so he would do best with an active, experienced dog adopter who can bring him to some manners classes! Because he often forgets to keep all four paws on the ground when around friends, Canello may be too much for small kids and would likely benefit from living in a home with teens and up.
