Starfish has been charming ASPCA staff and volunteers since he first came through the door. If one word had to be chosen to describe this handsome boy, it’s “social.” Starfish hasn’t met a person he doesn’t like and immediately greets friends and strangers alike by headbutting their hands and purring. When Starfish is at his happiest you sure know it—he won’t stop rolling around on his back or kneading with his paws! According to his foster caregiver, Starfish has a playful side too. He loves messing around with mouse toys, stuffed animals, paper towel tubes or anything else that he can chase! Starfish’s favorite hobby is distracting his foster caregiver while she works by laying on her lap and asking for love. Starfish has a great love of sunbathing too.

Starfish is looking for an understanding adopter who can look past his medical needs and love him for the sweet kitty he is! Starfish likely had a severe upper respiratory infection when he was young, which left him with permanent damage to his nasal passages. This causes nasal discharge, congestion and lots of sneezing, and he may be more prone to kitty colds and require more trips to the vet than other cats. This is called chronic rhinitis, but it doesn’t bother this guy a bit! Starfish would make a great fit for most families who may want an extra special kitty.
