We’re all about Angus! We first met this handsome young guy at the end of January, soon after he had been removed from a home with lots and lots of other kitties. Angus likely didn’t have much exposure to people, new things or new experiences before he came to us—so understandably, he found humans pretty scary when he first arrived. But, with the help of foster caregivers, Angus has made lots of progress, and we can’t wait to see him continue to get even better in an adoptive home!
According to the people who know him best—his fosters—"Angus is a sweet, timid, gentle and playful young boy who will need a patient owner to work with him to get him comfortable in his new home. He’s the type of cat whose trust needs to be earned.” They’ve let Angus set the pace and take things on his own time, and that’s worked wonderfully for him! Angus still isn’t a big fan of lots of ruckus, snuggling or being pet—and that’s probably just a part of who he is—but he is a big fan of play! “For a shy boy, Angus is very, very playful,” his fosters tell us. “He loves the feather stick, and it’s a great way to engage and gain trust with him.” Lots of yummy treats are also always appreciated by Angus, both before and after playtime! Angus also enjoys curling up in cozy nooks, exploring on his own terms and keeping an eye on what his favorite humans are doing—with some social distance in between, of course.
Angus would love a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that Angus is a shy kitty and likely always will be. His new people should be ready, willing and able—and excited! —to take things slow with this little man, putting in the continued work he’ll need to thrive. Other kitties and kids ages eight and up are all a-okay with him! If you think that Angus may be your match, please complete our Cat Adoption Survey.
