Get ready to fall in love with a sweet, social and silly girl — meet Polka!

Polka is currently thriving in her foster home, where she’s showing off what a smart and lovable pup she is. She’s a fast learner who picks up on cues quickly and already understands “crate,” where she’ll happily hang out until you come home. She loves to play, whether that’s zooming around the backyard, tossing toys for herself or chewing on a favorite plush. Polka is also a pool girl — nothing makes her happier than splashing around on warm days!

When Polka is outside, she’s an explorer and a sniffer, but inside, she’ll show off her soft side — she is great at calming down, curling up on the bed and snoozing like a pro! She also loves hanging nearby while her foster works, happily chilling with a toy or just relaxing. In the morning, she definitely enjoys sleeping in, but she is always ready to start the day when you are! She also doesn’t mind taking medicine if it comes with a treat.

This playful girl has done wonderfully with other dogs, big and small — she’s played nicely with a Saint Bernard and a Dachshund! Polka has also been respectful around a stray cat, kittens, a bunny and even a bird in a cage. She may need supervision at first with smaller animals, but she’s shown great potential to coexist peacefully.

Polka would do best in a home where she can be loved, included and stay active. A backyard would be a big bonus, though she also enjoys daily walks to practice her leash manners and take in the world. She may be a bit timid around children, so a more lowkey household would suit her best. Polka may take a little time to warm up to new people, but with patience and some tasty treats, she shows her brave side and makes new friends.
