A Valentine’s Day To Remember: “Speed Dating” at the Adoption Center
This past Valentine’s Day, the ASPCA Adoption Center hosted a special holiday adoption event: speed dating with big dogs! Thanks to the collaboration of multiple teams at the Adoption Center, the event was a roaring success.
We received over 60 RSVPs, and 13 groups of potential adopters showed up to participate. Many of those who didn’t attend are still planning to visit the Adoption Center to find their ideal companion.
Thanks to the creativity of our teams, the Adoption Center was transformed into a Valentine’s-themed matchmaking experience! Over the span of two hours, visitors sat down at “date tables” stationed throughout the building, and our adoptable dogs were paraded through the tables by staff and volunteers. Each dog had their moment to shine, and they had a blast mingling with the potential adopters!
As a result of this exciting event, six of our large dogs found loving homes! The adopted pups and their new families were thrilled to have become each other’s Valentine. Many other connections were formed, and we can’t wait to see our visitors return for their paw-fect match.
If you missed this fun-filled event, you can always visit the Adoption Center during our walk-in hours, noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Sunday, or see who we have available on our website! If you live outside of New York City, we have adoptable animals at our locations in at our locations in Pawling, New York, Weaverville, North Carolina, Los Angeles and Columbus, Ohio. You can also visit your local shelter or our friends at Animal Care Centers of NYC and the Los Angeles County’s Animal Care Centers.
