- Up to $250,000 in total funding is available, with applications closing April 22, 2026.
The ASPCA launched the Fund to End Factory Farming to generate compelling stories that demonstrate the many harms of factory farming and to speed the transition to a more humane food system.
Now in its fifth year, the Fund to End Factory Farming is accepting applications for projects that challenge the most pervasive myth about our food system: Factory farming ensures a safe and abundant food supply. In actuality, industrialized farming’s corner-cutting practices and lack of accountability breed physically, economically and socially risky conditions — for animals, farmers, workers, rural communities and consumers.
The industrial farming system’s structure is what leaves it vulnerable. Its fragility and inefficiency surface in ongoing bird flu outbreaks, mounting farmer crises and the stressful, unsafe conditions endured by both laborers and animals.
Persistently, the safest and most sustainable food system has proven to be the deep network of independent farms across America raising animals with attention and care, while investing in the health of their land, employees and communities.
Tragically, these farms receive a fraction of the taxpayer subsidies and market share of industrial agriculture. We are putting out a call for innovative projects that provide the depth of data and storytelling needed to show lawmakers, food companies and the public what farmers and advocates already understand: The way animals are raised impacts worker welfare, food quality, food safety and public health.
This year’s request for proposals ask six critical questions, and applicants must select at least one to articulate why the safest and most resilient food system is one without factory farming. Proposals can be focused regionally or nationally.
Applications for the ASPCA Fund to End Factory Farming will be accepted until 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Learn more about grant eligibility and submit your proposal at aspca.org/farmrfp.
