ASPCA Safety Net Program in Los Angeles

LA Safety Net Program

The ASPCA has established Safety Net programs at two L.A. animal shelters, Baldwin Park Animal Care Center and Downey Animal Care Center, to help these locations—and in turn the city and county—curb their homeless animal intake.

Our Safety Net Managers work directly with pet parents who arrive at these shelters to surrender their pet. Surrenders happen for a wide variety of reasons, and the ASPCA aims to help solve some common problems with select subsidized services for eligible pet parents:

  • Emergency Veterinary Care
  • Spay/Neuter
  • Temporary Boarding
  • Foster Care
  • Pet Supplies
  • Humane Euthanasia
  • Pet Behavior Counseling
