Waverly is one of those dogs who makes you smile the moment you meet her. With her big personality, soft heart and easy affection, she’s impossible not to fall for. She was originally rescued from devastating floods in Texas, and she is now ready to find her dream home!

Waverly has a lot of playful energy, but also a calm, snuggly side. After a good walk or play session, she’s happiest curled up beside you on the couch, soaking up affection. Pets, cuddles and head rubs are always welcome. She’s also a big fan of relaxing outdoors and can often be found lounging in the sun, so she’d love to have a fenced-in yard to enjoy safely. Waverly also deserves bonus points for being housetrained, crate trained, and kid approved! She has met young children and done wonderfully, showing her gentle and adaptable nature.

Waverly absolutely loves other dogs and is one of the most socially savvy pups we’ve met. She’s great at reading other dogs’ signals and adjusting her playstyle accordingly. Waverly can be fearful or uncertain in new environments, but having another confident dog around truly helps her feel safe and comfortable. In foster care, she has lived with a playful resident dog and they get along beautifully. Her ideal home will include a dog companion who can continue showing her the ropes and help her build confidence.

When Waverly came into our care last year, it was noted that she walked with an abnormal gait and seemed uncomfortable. Further evaluation revealed bilateral luxating patellas in both of her hind legs. Thanks to a successful double knee surgery and months of loving recovery in a foster home, Waverly is now pain-free, off all exercise restrictions and living life to the fullest!

Waverly has come such a long way. She’s sweet, resilient and ready to bring joy and connection to a loving home — especially one with a dog friend by her side. Fill out an adoption application to schedule a meet-and-greet with her today!
