Nyx

Nyx is a big, black cat with a tiny bit of toddler energy, a little bit of old-man energy and a whole lot of personality! At 3 years old, this goofy boy is a professional couch potato, enthusiastic yapper and world-class attention demander. He is also genuinely hilarious. We never seem to stop laughing when Nyx is around!

Nyx is incredibly social with people and has absolutely no interest in playing hard to get. He’ll immediately rub all over new people, follow you around and make sure you know when he’d like some attention. If you walk past him without saying hello, you can expect a few meows of protest. He may also walk back and forth, rub a little harder or dramatically throw himself against anything nearby to remind you that he is, in fact, still there and would like to be acknowledged.

And then there’s the rubbing — Nyx loves to rub! Legs, furniture, walls, floors, probably the entire building if given the opportunity. He rolls and rubs everywhere, and watching him enthusiastically smoosh himself against things is honestly part of the Nyx experience. He loves pets and body contact, and he will happily climb into your lap when he's ready for some serious lounging.

Nyx is also a guy with boundaries, and he is very good at communicating them. If he’s had enough attention or decides he’d rather not be moved, he’ll let you know with a few very clear meows. He’s a wonderfully interactive cat who wants to be involved with his people, but he also appreciates having his signals understood.

When it comes to food, Nyx is a lickable treat enthusiast who likes to conduct a thorough sniff test before committing. He is also an adorably uncoordinated eater, so don’t be surprised if he finishes a meal with some food decorating his face. He’s had a few teeth removed, but that hasn’t slowed down his enthusiasm for snacks one bit.

Toys aren't usually high on Nyx’s priority list, although an electric string toy can occasionally get his attention. He’ll sometimes enjoy a wand toy, kicker toy or puzzle feeder, but honestly, his favorite activities seem to be lounging, rubbing on things, supervising his humans and making sure everyone knows what he’s thinking.
