Lion

This handsome boy is not only stunning, he’s super special! Are you the person Lion has been waiting for?
Lion had a very ruff start in life, and he did not grow up like a typical dog. Here at the Cruelty Recovery Center, he has been learning all about the world and all of the wonderful things it has to offer! He’s learning to simply be a dog.
So far, Lion has discovered a few things that he absolutely loves. The first is water! That might mean a pool, a puddle or even snow and ice. So long as he can splash his paws in it, he’s a happy guy! He’s a beautiful, fluffy Merlion! The other thing Lion adores is playing with his dog friends! This boy is friendly and social with every dog he meets, and on most days, he can be seen running around in our play yard with all his buddies!
Lion’s paw-fect home would have another resident dog for him to play with, and who can show him the ropes and help him get used to life in a loving home. He would also do best in a home with a fenced-in backyard, so that he can run and romp around in a safe place while he is still getting acclimated to his new environment. The outside world is still a little daunting to him, so as he transitions into a new home, going at his own pace is super helpful for him. And if you happen to have a pool—well, Lion says that would be the jackpot! Even a small wading pool would be wonderful!
Lion is a smart guy who is learning every day, and he is working diligently on his doggy manners. He already knows “sit” and “shake,” and if you have yummy snacks, he’s eager to learn even more! Lion is still young and excited about all the potential his future holds. That means when he doesn’t know where to put all his excited energy, he may want to jump up and get a bit mouthy. So, he has also been learning how to play appropriately and calmly keep all four paws on the floor. With some patience and practice, Lion’s adopters will be rewarded with a sweet, attentive dog!
