Landlubber

Landlubber is a 3-year-old Husky with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Her striking eyes makes her truly unforgettable, with one bright blue eye and one warm brown eye sprinkled with a touch of blue.

This social, silly girl absolutely loves people and isn’t shy about showing it. Landlubber will happily walk right up to greet you, ready to make a new friend and soak up attention. You may even catch her doing adorable little tippy taps with her feet as she waits for some love.

Landlubber is all about fun, especially when plush toys are involved. Squeaky toys are her favorite, and she’ll happily toss them around, play with them and show off her goofy side. She can sometimes get a little extra excited during play and may jump up, so she’ll benefit from continued training to help her channel her enthusiasm into polite greetings and play.

Landlubber is a smart girl who already knows “sit” and is very treat motivated, making training a fun way to build her confidence and strengthen your bond. She also loves long, sniffy walks where she can explore the world through her nose. She thrives with enrichment that keeps both her active mind and body busy.

While Landlubber loves people, she can have some mild uncertainty when experiencing new places or unfamiliar things. After being rescued from a suspected cruelty situation, she is still learning that the world is full of kindness, comfort and new adventures. With patience, encouragement and a supportive home, she will continue to build confidence and show more of her silly, joyful personality every day.

Landlubber has done well with other dogs and enjoys bouncy, chase-style play. She has shown a loose, relaxed body when passing other dogs on leash, and she may enjoy having a canine companion who can match her playful energy.

When Landlubber first arrived in our care, she was diagnosed with a heart condition and has since undergone successful surgery to correct it. She has fully recovered and is expected to live a normal, happy life. Her adopter will simply need to continue regular, proactive veterinary care to help keep her feeling her best.

Since Landlubber recently underwent heart surgery, she will need to wait a little longer before safely completing her spay surgery. She is available for adoption before being spayed, and the ASPCA will cover the cost and coordinate scheduling for this procedure. Her adopter will simply bring her back to the ASPCA at the scheduled time so she can complete this final step in her care.
