Collard, our very jolly-looking boy, is a loving soul who has been described by his foster parent as “endearingly quirky with an old man’s personality”. While in foster, he’s been the cutest couch potato and a perfect house guest. Weighing in at only sixteen pounds, he doesn’t take up much space or ask for much in return—except for his walks, naps and occasional pets!

Collard’s favorite pastimes include long, meandering walks around the neighborhood and taking cozy naps. He enjoys hanging out around his people, but he isn’t a Velcro dog—he’s perfectly content to just be in the same room as you. Collard came from a hoarding situation, so he has been around many dogs in the past and does just fine with them. He’s a laidback little dog!

While in the shelter, Collard did have an episode where he appeared to have a focal seizure, followed by a full seizure a few days later. He went to foster for closer monitoring, and since his time in the shelter, no further seizure activity has been noted. This could recur in the future, and if those episodes become frequent, he may need to take seizure medication to control them. He hasn’t had any concerns since the initial events, so he does not need any special care at this time—just awareness from his adopter.

Collard is our special little guy and it’s hard not to fall head-over-heels for him. If you’d like to meet him and add a small pup’s big heart to your life, fill out an adoption application today!
