Make a Difference for Animals! Become an Advocacy Volunteer
Want to make a big difference for animals in your state and across the country? Consider joining one of the ASPCA’s advocacy volunteer programs to help us pass animal-friendly legislation and mobilize other animal advocates in your community.
There are a number of ways you can help, including recruiting volunteers, developing relationships with local, state or federal legislators and their staffs, or drafting Letters to the Editor for local publications. No experience is required! All you need is passion and excitement for the ASPCA’s mission to protect animals and a desire to get involved.
Horse Action Team (HAT)
If you’re a horse lover, this is the spot for you. We are looking for advocates to work closely with us to ban horse slaughter for good and protect our nation’s at-risk wild horses by encouraging federal lawmakers to vote the right way. Learn more and apply here!
District Captain Program
The ASPCA District Captain program is a special opportunity for advocates who want to take on a leadership volunteer position in the animal welfare community and fight for animals in a hands-on way, including organizing other advocates in their area and helping the ASPCA’s Legislative Engagement team with events and advocacy campaigns. Learn more and apply to become a District Captain here!
If you haven’t yet, please sign up to receive free ASPCA email updates on animal-friendly legislation that’s pending in your state legislature or the nation’s capital, and be alerted when we need your help to help pass anti-cruelty laws on the local, state and federal levels. Join the Advocacy Brigade here!
Interested in volunteering, but unable to commit to one of the volunteer positions listed above? Please email [email protected] for other opportunities in your area!
