Ready to Change Laws and Save Lives? Become a District Captain!

The ASPCA District Captain program is a special opportunity for key advocates to take a leadership position in the animal welfare community and fight for animals in a hands-on way.

District Captains will be involved in organizing and connecting other advocates in their area, meeting with legislators, writing letters to the editor, and volunteering with the ASPCA Government Relations team to help coordinate events, connect local volunteers, organize advocacy efforts, and promote social media campaigns!

Most District Captain activities can be carried out from home and within your community, though travel in your state may be requested on occasion as part of a volunteer opportunity. We will stay in touch with you about upcoming issues and keep you informed about volunteer activities in your community. We will also connect you with other advocates looking to volunteer in your community.

Excited to get started? Please carefully read our volunteer description, and then fill out the form below to apply. Because of the nature of our work and the incremental process that it takes to pass legislation, we ask for a minimum commitment of at least 12 months.
