Norwood

Norwood originally came to us from rural Alabama—and after six months of living his big New York City dreams, he’s realized he’s not a city slicker. Norwood is looking for a non-urban home where he can let his spunky young pup side blossom with an adopter who can give him the training he needs to become his best self!

Big fan of: The park! According to his previous family, nothing made Norwood happier than getting to feel the sunshine on his back and the grass below his feet while doing a romp around his favorite quiet park. A home with some semblance of nature, like a backyard, would be a dream for Norwood! Whether he’s at the park or indoors, Norwood enjoys playtime, too. He loves doing cute play bows when he gets really into the games—especially when they involve tennis balls! Once playtime is said and done, Norwood enjoys nothing more than snuggling up with his favorite people for pets, cuddles, and quiet time.

Working on: His confidence and manners! Norwood isn’t a big fan of city or shelter life, and this is clear through his behavior. Outside, Norwood shuts down and refuses to walk on busy city streets, and inside, he tends to be nervous around unfamiliar objects and people and when left alone. Once he’s comfortable, Norwood can get a bit too comfortable and forget that he shouldn’t use his mouth on friends. A home in the right area, appropriate outlets for his physical and mental energy, and continued training would go a long way towards helping Norwood become a mature, confident adult dog!

Dream home: The city is too overwhelming for this sensitive soul, so he needs to go to a home in a non-urban environment with a fenced-in backyard. His adopter should be ready, willing and able to provide him with the training he needs to blossom! Norwood has previously lived well with children and a guinea pig, and we think he may be able to live well with another dog, too.
