Fawn

Our shy girl Fawn is just as gentle and graceful as her namesake! A recent transplant to New York City, this sweet lady has understandably been a little overwhelmed since she arrived. Fawn is nothing more than loving and would blossom in a quiet home away from the scary sights and sounds of the city. 

Big fan of: Other dogs! Fawn can be pretty timid around new people and in new places, but this pup really comes out of her shell when she’s around friends who speak her language. Put Fawn in a doggy playgroup and you really see her goofy, playful and rowdy side start to shine! This pup loves other dogs so much that she even has a stuffed dog friend in her kennel to keep her company. But, it’s not just her stuffed dog who Fawn likes hanging out with. She needs a slow approach and takes time warming up to new people, but Fawn has a ton of love to give to humans, too! Once you’re BFFs, Fawn can often be found cuddling on your lap and giving the gentlest kisses to either your face or hands. She’d make an awesome date for a movie night at home because she absolutely loves being cuddled up in soft blankets with her human friends nearby! 

Working on: Her confidence! Fawn came to the ASPCA Adoption Center from one of our partner shelters in the south. She truly is a southern belle adjusting to the Big Apple, and she’s really missing her country roots. With the loud sounds and fast movements that come along with NYC, the city is pretty scary for her—so she’s looking for a special type of home.

Dream home: Fawn needs a quiet and comfy home away from the hustle and bustle of New York City. Because she’s been so scared outside, Fawn must go to a home with a backyard in a quiet, low-traffic neighborhood. She would benefit from being adopted by someone who has experience with a shy dog like her and understands that Fawn needs to take relationships on her own terms. She doesn’t have to live with a doggy roommate but would love it if given the opportunity!
