Could adopting Destiny be your destiny? We sure hope so! Underneath Destiny’s shy exterior is a loving, playful lady with the most beautiful smile and a great zest for life. She’s more than willing to let that side shine bright in the right home, and maybe that that home could be yours!
Big fan of: Other dogs! At the Adoption Center, Destiny has been the star of our daily doggy playgroups. She’s had the chance to play with lots of other friends who speak her language and has yet to meet a pup she doesn’t like! So, trips to the dog park post-adoption? Yes, please! With people, Destiny is a bit more hesitant. She takes a little time to warm up to new human friends, but once you’re friends, you’re friends for life! Sneak a few treats in the mix and Destiny is sure to be on the path to love—she just needs a little time to get there!
Working on: Her confidence! At the shelter, Destiny has displayed some fearful behavior and was a little slow to warm up to staff—potentially because she might not have had enough exposure to new people and experiences during her critical socialization period as a young puppy. She’s also been nervous outside on walks, too, since the loud sounds and scary sights of the city are a little overwhelming for her. Luckily, the right home—potentially with another dog—some enriching items, and a quiet den-like area will go a long way towards helping Destiny feel much more comfortable and confident!
Dream home: Destiny is looking for a quiet home in a low-traffic area with a patient adopter who’s excited to help her feel comfortable and at home! Because she gains so much confidence around other dogs, she’d love a home with another social, confident pup—but we’re flexible! In any case, teens and up and no kitties is perfect for this gal.
