Pretty girl Clarrissa hasn’t been at the ASPCA for too long, so we’re still getting to know her for who she truly is. What we do know, is that her previous family gave her a glowing report card! Clarrissa is looking for a new, active human who can keep her engaged and stimulated. Does that sound like you?

Big fan of: Everything! Clarrissa is a sweet dog who greets everyone and everything with a smile and tail wag because she understands that the world is a happy and exciting place. According to her previous family, Clarrissa went everywhere with them and had a great time while doing it. And being home with her people wasn’t a problem, either. Clarrissa loves everyone she meets and likes to spend time with people in whatever way she can. She even loves being up close and personal, her previous family noting that she’s “a bed hog.” With energy for days, playtime is also one of Clarrissa’s favorite ways to pass the time. No matter the type of toy, if there’s a way for Clarrissa to have fun, you can count her in. Clarrissa is also a super smart girl! She’s reported to be housetrained and is always willing to work hard for a yummy snack.

Working on: Learning to speak dog. Clarrissa has gotten the chance to be a part of a few doggy playgroups during her time in the shelter, and to be frank, she can be a little pushy and rude with other dogs. When meeting other pups, she should be introduced slowly. Because other dogs may not appreciate her play style, trips to the dog park should probably be avoided while her adopter forms a bond with Clarrissa and teaches her some cues that may help her manage interactions. After a month or so, she may be ready! In her previous home, Clarrissa was reported to chew on things that weren’t hers when left alone. Her adopter will need to provide her with lots of outlets for her physical and mental energy, as well as a crate or restricted area when left alone.

Dream home: Clarrissa is looking for an adopter who can keep her busy with fun and exercise! Children and cats may be new for her, but our Matchmakers would be happy to speak with interested adopters who have kids or kitties. When it comes to dogs, Clarrissa would do best with a calm, well-socialized adult dog or as the only pup in the home.
