Charlie may be small, but he sure does have a huge personality! There’s never been a person who’s met Charlie and hasn’t left the room smiling and laughing. An active dude, Charlie is ready to find a home where he can have lots of fun, keep busy and always have his paws in something!
Big fan of: Playtime! Charlie is a high-energy, spunky little man who wants nothing more than to let his goofy side shine. Charlie is always happy to gnaw on a plush toy, and he especially loves throwing them around and chasing after them! Always one to be polite, Charlie makes sure to include his people in his games, too. And who are, “his people,” you may ask? Anyone and everyone in the room! Charlie has never met a stranger and wins everyone over immediately with his incredibly funny antics. And, on top of his wonderful playful spirit, Charlie is also smart as a whip. He adores showing everyone how great he is at sit and will do just about anything for a yummy treat—including jumping as high up in the air as he can to catch them when they’re tossed!
Working on: Remembering that not every feeling has to be expressed loudly and proudly. Charlie’s personality is bigger than his body, and when he likes or doesn’t like something, he makes it super clear! For example, Charlie’s previously family reported that he would pace and whine when left alone and that he would bark when excited. We haven’t seen much of this behavior in the shelter, but we have seen that he isn’t a huge fan of vet checkups. In any aspect, giving Charlie lots of mental and physical stimulation should help keep him calm, happy and maybe a little tuckered out—which may, in turn, help him remember to keep cool.
Dream home: Charlie would like a person who’s ready, willing and able to keep him busy with lots of fun and exercise! Because he’s a lot of dog packed into a little body, we think a home with kids ages eight and up would be the best fit. If you’d like to make Charlie yours, please complete our Dog Adoption Survey.
