Just as her name implies, our pup Brownie is truly as sweet as sugar! On top of that sweetness, she’s also a goofy lady who’s mastered the art of making people laugh with her silly antics. But, it’s not her class-clown nature or her friendliness that’s her biggest personality trait—it’s her energy! Brownie loves to stay moving, and she’s on the hunt for an adopter who enjoys the same.
Big fan of: Keeping active! If Brownie were a human, she’d be one of those morning people who hops right out of bed, straps her sneakers on and goes for an incredibly long run—and still has plenty of energy to spare! This girl enjoys nothing more than activities that let her get some of that energy out. Whether it’s an outdoor adventure, chasing after toys or plain-old zoomies, Brownie is one happy lady so long as she gets to use her legs. Affectionately described as “like a cat” by our ASPCA photographer, Brownie loves rolling around on the ground on her back! And not just rolling around in place, either—you can often find her rolling all the way across the room!
Working on: Her manners! Whether it’s getting ready to go for a walk, seeing a friend or meeting another pup, everything Brownie encounters is incredibly exciting for her. This happy lady hasn’t yet learned how to contain her excitement and often lets it show by jumping up towards your face and nipping at your clothes. Brownie’s jumping can be a little extreme, so she needs an adopter who’s willing to work with a rewards-based trainer to help Brownie work on her impulse control. Brownie loves other dogs but tends to play a little rough for some—so she’d benefit from some training there, too.
Dream home: Brownie is a special gal who needs to go home with an adopter who has experience with dogs like her—and, someone who can provide her with lots of activities and exercise to keep her busy, happy and stimulated. Because of her jumpiness, she can be too much for young children and must go to a household with only teens and up. Brownie has previously lived well with cats. If you think she might be the match for you, come ask about her today!
