Bagel

When asked to describe Bagel’s positive traits, our volunteers went on and on! “Attentive, sweet, smart and a fast learner,” they say, “Bagel likes to learn and sit across your lap. She’s a snuggler, very affectionate and listens well.” And, they’re right! Add “active” to that mix, and you’ve got a perfect description of this lovely lady.

Big fan of: Outdoor adventures! The aforementioned volunteers love taking Bagel out for extended journeys to Central Park, and she just can’t get enough of them. Bagel has a lot of energy packed into that medium-sized body, and she loves doing anything and everything to expend it! Even though Bagel is a high-energy gal, she’s very polite on her walks and is happy to snuggle on park benches after getting lots of steps in! Take her back home, and Bagel is also happy to do zoomies and partake in playtime with her friends, too. And who are her friends, you may ask? Any and every human! Bagel has never met a person she doesn’t like and, according to one of our Matchmakers, “when Bagel has a captive audience of strangers in the elevator, she leans into them one by one to make friends.”

Working on: Learning to reign in her excitement! Bagel is a very happy, wiggly lady who thinks everything is super great—and she sometimes gets a little wrapped up in all the fun, especially when playing with toys or before being taken for walks. When out for walks Bagel can easily and politely pass other dogs on the sidewalk, but she can be picky about her pup friends and does better meeting other dogs one-on-one. Bagel is also working on remembering how to politely share her things with her people. For all of the above, Bagel would benefit greatly from a little training—and our team would be happy to provide tips!
