Archie is a newcomer to the ASPCA Adoption Center, but this little guy has managed to capture the hearts of staff while we continue to learn about his personality. Good with other dogs and kids, Archie would make a great companion for a family who’s willing to take things at his pace!
Big fan of: Playtime! In his short time here, he’s already shown us that he’s a big fan of games. This little dude loves to play—he’s one of those pups who is so goofy that you can’t help but smile! Archie loves his people too. He can be a little hand-shy with folks he doesn’t know, but approach him slowly and Archie soon starts leaning in for lots of scratches—especially around his favorite spot, the neck! Take Archie out for a walk where he can show off his impeccable leash skills and Archie will be one happy guy.
Working on: His confidence! Since his arrival to the ASPCA, Archie has been a little nervous—especially when it comes to handling. While he enjoys gentle scratches from his friends, things like veterinary exams and having his harness put on and taken off can spook him. Archie’s adopters should be willing to be pretty hands-off until they’ve built a relationship with him. He’d also benefit from seeing a veterinarian who practices low-stress handling techniques.
Dream home: Archie is looking for an adopter who understands that he will need time and patience as he adjusts to his new home. He’s reported to get along well with other dogs and has previously lived well with kids.
