“Too smart for his own good,” is how one ASPCA staff member describes Topago! This pretty boy tends to be nervous in new places and will likely take some time to settle into his new home. But once he feels comfortable, you’ve sure got a funny, interesting cat on your hands!
Topago loves attention on his terms and is very clear with his body language when he wants it and when he’s had enough. To let you know that he’s ready for some loving, Topago often rubs on his people—or anything nearby, really! He will stretch his front paws way up in the air, begging to be doted on and told what a handsome kitty he is! Topago absolutely adores pets and scratches and sometimes enjoys laying in your lap and making biscuits on your knees while purring. He can also be playful at times and seems to have an affinity for plastic balls and wand toys. Sometimes Topago can be a little rough and forget that his peoples’ hands and feet aren’t toys, so his adopter should ready to help him remember to play appropriately.
Topago would do best with an adopter who has some experience with cats like him. Because kids may not understand when Topago wants attention and when he doesn’t, or understand his play style, an adults-only home would be best for this guy. He’s previously lived well with another kitty so if you currently have a cat in your home, sign Topago up! If Topago seems like the boy for you, please fill out our Cat Adoption Survey!
