Smiley

Smiley has made leaps and bounds since his arrival to the ASPCA Adoption Center in early February. When he first arrived Smiley could almost always be found huddled in the back of his kennel, hissing at anyone who came near. With a few months of work—and love—from our Behavior team and a dedicated foster caregiver, Smiley has absolutely blossomed. Described as “a gem of a cat” by his fostermom, Smiley enjoys cuddling “all day long”with his favorite people, especially when there’s something good to watch on TV. He adores sleeping in front of a window or on your pillow and plays the cutest game where he hides his fake mice overnight and waits for you to go find them.He’s also almost as good at fetch as a dog and can often be found following his favorite people around when he isn’t busy batting at a wand toy!

Smiley has come a long way, but he still appreciates a slow approach and when people allow him to come to them instead of vice versa. He would do best with an adopter who understands that he will need a lot of time and space to himself to adjust to any new home. His new homeshould be adults-only since kids are too much for this sensitive soul.
