The first thing that everyone notices about Simon is that he’s quite the big boy—but we know that under his exterior is a loving kitty waiting to blossom! When Simon first arrived at the ASPCA Adoption Center he let us know that he wasn’t too big a fan of his new digs and the people in them, hissing and using his paws to ask for space. But, every day Simon starts to settle in and open up more and more—and we know that he’s ready to find a home! Simon is still the type of guy who has a “don’t come to me, I’ll come to you” personality—and that’s probably just who he is—but when he comes to you, it’s quite the treat! Simon seems to enjoy gentle pets on his terms, leaning heavily into the hands of those who go slow with him before getting enough and asking for some breathing room. When it comes to playtime, Simon seems interested in toys but doesn’t seem confident enough to let his kittenish side show just yet. In a new home, where he’s settled in and comfy, Simon very well could learn to love play!
Simon is looking for a person who understands that going to a new place can be scary and that it will take him time to adjust to any new home. Because small kids may not understand when he’d like attention and when he’d like space, he’d do great with teens and up. And, Simon’s ready to be the king of the castle this time around—so no other kitties, please! If you’d like to make Simon yours, please complete our Cat Adoption Survey.
