Lanai

“Once he’s comfortable, he’s your best friend”—a direct quote from Lanai’s foster caregiver! Lanai is one of those kitties who can be a little shy in new places and new environments, and particularly around new people. But give Lanai some time to settle in, and you’ll soon have a lovely kitty on your hands! Lanai may always be shy around guests, but once he feels that the home is his, you’ll know. When paired with a slow approach, Lanai loves getting pets all over from his favorite people. He prefers attention in small doses and is great at using his body language to let his humans know when he would like more and when he’s had enough. When he isn’t busy getting loved on, Lanai has a few other ways he likes to pass the time. Lanai absolutely adores wand toys and can even be found chasing his own tail. He’s also a big chatterbox and loves asking you about everything from your day to the weather.

Lanai is looking for an adopter who understands that it will take him time to adjust to any new home. Because small kids may not understand when Lanai has or hasn’t had enough attention, we think a home with teens and up would be best. We know that Lanai has previously lived with other cats but we’re not sure how they got along—so, if you’re interested in adopting Lanai as a friend to your current kitty our Matchmakers would be happy to provide information on proper cat-to-cat intros!
