Donna is looking for a special human who’s excited to help her continue coming out of her shell! When this sweet girl first arrived at the Adoption Center, she was terrified—hiding to the point of almost being invisible and immediately fleeing from any humans who came relatively near. Time and love from our Behavior team have helped Donna start to feel a little more comfortable in the shelter—and start to show glimpses of who she really is! Now, when Donna sees a human friend that she’s familiar with, she can be found rubbing on nearby objects and sometimes letting out the cutest little meow. She’s still learning that pets and scratches are good and has started to warm up to butt scratches from her favorite humans. But, there is one thing that she has definitely fallen in love with—playtime! When this girl isn’t snuggled up in a safe, cozy nook, she loves chasing after laser lights. Sometimes she even tries to play while curled up in her favorite spots!

Donna would do best in a quiet home that consists of teens and up and a patient adopter who will love her for the shy cat she is while continuing to help her make progress. Her adopter should understand that it will likely take at least several weeks of confinement and a hands-off approach for Donna to start to settle in—and our Behavior team is ready to send her home with some of her favorite things to help! Donna is her best self around other cats, so she must go to a home that already has another kitty. If you’re interested in adopting Donna and helping her flourish into the sweet kitty we know she really is, please fill out our Cat Adoption Survey.
