Bleeker has come a long way since her first days in the shelter, and she’s looking for a comfy home where she can keep making strides! Shy and sensitive, Bleeker is slowly learning that the world has tons of fun and exciting things to explore. She tends to get nervous around new people and in new places, but with time and after steady introductions Bleeker turns into the fun-loving and affectionate kitty she was always meant to be! Pull out a toy mouse, a wand toy, or a pipe cleaner and you will have this pretty lady’s full attention. And don’t think you’re off the hook after the games are done! Bleeker will keep you busy by asking for gentle pets and scratches on her terms.
Bleeker is looking for a patient and experienced cat adopter who understands that she needs time to adjust to new surroundings. She should live in a quiet, adults-only household and wouldn’t mind a confident kitty roommate who could show her the ropes of her new home.
As part of our adoption program, some of our feline and canine friends have the opportunity to live in foster homes. This allows our Adoption Center and Foster teams to learn more about each animal’s individual personality and needs, while they are in a more comfortable living space, outside of the shelter setting. Through our foster program, we are able to offer adopters a clearer picture of how their new pet will adjust to life in a permanent home. The goal of the Adoption Ambassador program is for these foster animals to be adopted directly from their foster home.
If you are interested in meeting one of our Adoption Ambassador animals, please first call our Adoptions department at (212) 876-7700 ext. 4120 to make an appointment. Our team will provide you with more information.
