Bijoux

When asked to describe Bijoux, his office foster parents had one phrase— “a Velcro cat!” A bit of an older gentleman, Bijoux doesn’t let his age slow him down from getting a whole lot of love. Aside from his fluffy bed, Bijoux has one place he absolutely adores spending all his time in—your lap! As soon as you take a seat, this big boy jumps up and makes himself comfortable. Give him some head scratches, catnip or a good brushing and Bijoux is sure to be the happiest kitty ever! He even likes to pretend the strings of your sweatshirt are a toy and playfully bat them around. If he’s not feeling lap time, you may spot Bijoux showing his happy-go-lucky spirit by rolling around on the floor—which is extra adorable because of his size!

It’s clear that Bijoux absolutely adores everyone he meets, but he does get pretty nervous when approached too quickly or when in new places. He will likely hide for the first week or so in his new home, so his adopter should be willing to give him the time and space he needs to settle in while allowing him to take things at his own pace and on his own terms. While at the ASPCA, Bijoux has shown evidence of feline asthma and has had intermittent vomiting and diarrhea. Most kitties don’t love trips to the vet, but Bijoux really doesn’t like them—so Bijoux’s adopter should be willing to work with a veterinarian who practices low-stress handling to help keep him as happy and healthy as possible!
