Aloe

Meet Aloe! He came from a home with many other cats and it’s clear that he wasn’t used to getting lots attention from people. Aloe thought toys were pretty cool, but this nervous boy would back away from anyone who tried to give him a little love and a few pets. With special attention—including lots of playtime and treats—from our Behavior team, we’ve seen Aloe begin to show glimpses of his social side! He’s still getting used to the whole petting thing, but boy does this cat enjoy playtime! Aloe absolutely loves games, especially when they involve his favorite toy, a Cat Catcher—which we will be sure to send him home with! With his play-style described by our Behaviorists as “vigorous,” Aloe adores using all his might to run and jump after the little toy mouse on the end of the string. And, playtime helps him bond with people too, so it’s a win-win!

Aloe needs a patient adopter who is willing to work with him to help him continue coming out of his shell! They should be understanding that Aloe will likely take several weeks or more to warm up to his new home and the people in it. Small children and other cats aren’t really his thing, so Aloe should be the only kitty in a quiet home with teens and up.
