Big fan of: People! Chuck is super friendly, and loves every person he meets. He enjoys lounging around the house as well as plenty of playtime and exercise outdoors. Chuck also loves playing with toys—make sure you always have one on hand so he can keep something in his mouth! Chuck likes to play with dogs that are gentle and won’t intimidate him.
Not a fan of: Sharing. Chuck feels mildly uncomfortable when someone reaches for the toy or bone he’s chewing, but our Behavior team can give you some tips for helping Chuck learn to share. He is also a bit mouthy when he gets excited.
Special features: Prior to coming to the ASPCA, Chuck had been abandoned and left tied to a tree. He suffered from injuries so severe that he couldn’t use his hind legs. After extensive surgery and physical therapy, Chuck regained mobility. Read more about Chuck’s background and watch video footage of his recovery.
Dream home: This sweet dog would do best with an adopter with some dog experience in a home with teens-and-up.
