Erwin

Meet Erwin, a 1-year-old brown pittie with the most adorable little underbite! His two bottom teeth are always out, giving him a permanently goofy, slightly surprised look that will absolutely steal your heart. 

Erwin came to us from a suspected cruelty case, and while the world has felt a little big and scary for him, he’s been quietly working so hard to figure it all out. Watching him learn has really been something special. 

When he first arrived in our care, Erwin was unsure and lacked confidence. With time, patience and the help of other dogs, he has started to come out of his shell more and more each day! He has discovered that other pups are actually pretty great, and he’s even turned into a rough-and-tumble playgroup guy. He now joins many of our playgroups, where he is learning how to run, wrestle and just let loose a little. 

One of Erwin’s newest discoveries is the pool! At first, he wasn’t so sure, and now he’s realizing it might actually be kind of amazing. When he tries something new, he gets a bit braver, and you can almost see the lightbulb go off! It’s those little moments that make you root for him even harder.

Erwin is looking for a patient, kindhearted adopter who understands that confidence doesn’t happen overnight. He’s going to need someone who can gently show him the ropes, celebrate the small wins and give him the space to grow into the dog he’s meant to be. A confident resident dog would be a huge bonus for him — he really takes comfort in having a buddy to follow and learn from.
