November 30, 2016

Every now and then, we have a special animal in our care who needs a little extra help finding a home. This week, our Adoption Spotlight is on a big boy with a big heart named Dowzer. Read on to learn more about this sweet dog—and please consider giving him a home for the holidays!

UPDATE: Dowzer is no longer available. If you are interested in adopting through the ASPCA, see our available animals in New York City and Los Angeles

Meet Dowzer! At 75 lbs., Dowzer is a big boy with an even bigger heart! Dowzer came to us when his owner lost his home and was not allowed to keep him where he was staying. Dowzer is about four years old, neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. He has a lot of energy for running and playing, but his favorite pastime is cuddling! Dowzer does well around other dogs, and he also loves people of all ages—but his large frame and level of excitement might be better suited for older children. We have not yet had him around cats, so we’re not sure what he thinks of them. Although Dowzer is still learning his manners when it comes to walking on a leash, he is very responsive to correction and praise and is very eager to please! Consider bringing this goofball home today!
