Spring is here, which means it’s time to pull out the cleaning supplies for some spring cleaning! Over the last year, our lives have revolved around sanitation and hygiene, so it’s quite possible you already have some supplies around the house. But, cleaning products in the home means that there’s more of a possibility of our pets getting into or being exposed to them, which could lead to problems for your pet.

In fact, calls to the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) related to cleaning materials have increased 65% in the last year! APCC staff had reports of exposures to a wide variety of cleaning products in a wide variety of species, including dogs, cats, small mammals, primates, reptiles, wolves and even a tiger! In order to prevent pet parent’s from making some common cleaning mistakes, APCC created this list of do’s and don’ts to keep your pets safe during spring cleaning.
