Joey Teixeira
Senior Director of Philanthropy, Eastern Region

As Senior Director of Philanthropy for the ASPCA’s Eastern Region, Joey Teixeira partners with individual donors across 28 states, drawing on more than a decade of experience in animal welfare to advance the organization’s lifesaving mission. Joey began his career with the ASPCA at the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City in 2013, where he oversaw client services and helped place thousands of dogs and cats into loving homes. During this time, he also served as an on-screen spokesperson, raising public awareness about the urgent need for adoption. In 2017, Joey transitioned to the Philanthropy team, bringing his frontline experience and deep program knowledge into his fundraising work.
Having witnessed the impact of the ASPCA’s programs firsthand, Joey is driven by a passion for connecting like-minded donors to meaningful opportunities that create lasting change for animals. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hunter College and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) through CFRE International.
Joey lives in New York City with his husband and their five rescue pets — two dogs and three cats: Edie, Lacey, Mr. Business, Quincy and Magoo. Outside of work, he is an avid runner and enjoys volunteering with nonprofit organizations throughout the city.
