The ASPCA Veterinary Scholarship Program
The ASPCA Veterinary Scholarship Program supports veterinary and veterinary technician students who are committed to building careers in animal welfare and helping animals in need. Through this investment in the next generation of animal welfare professionals, the program cultivates a community dedicated to improving animal lives while strengthening the veterinary workforce at shelters and other mission-driven organizations.
The program is for students who commit to working at least three years after graduation in animal welfare, including: nonprofit or municipal shelter medicine, community-centered medicine, high-quality high-volume spay-neuter programs, at-risk equine care, or pasture-based, humane agriculture. As their careers evolve, their impact will be felt in shelters, clinics, farms and communities across the nation.
These students will be supported through mentorship, professional development and financial support while completing their education, with veterinary students receiving up to $100,000 in scholarship funding and veterinary technician students receiving up to $20,000.

Through this program, the ASPCA is addressing the nationwide shortage of veterinary professionals in the animal welfare sector and the growing need for accessible, affordable veterinary care by reducing financial barriers for future veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Launched in 2026, the inaugural class of ASPCA Scholars includes 41 veterinary and veterinary technician students representing 28 schools across the U.S. and St. Kitts.
