As the ASPCA’s Manager of Philanthropy, Gemma Smith manages relationships with individual donors and contributes to donor communications and engagement. She brings nearly a decade of experience with the organization, including nine years with the Kitten Nursery, where she supported daily operations at the New York City nursery that provides critical care to hundreds of kittens each year.

Outside her role in Philanthropy, Gemma produces cat‑focused community events and media to foster connection and compassion. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their two rescue cats, Lion‑o and Luna, and she enjoys yoga and tap dance in her free time. Gemma holds a bachelor’s degree in theatre.
