Dr. Michelle Amtower Surgical Suite
Dr. Michelle Amtower received a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Veterinary Science from West Virginia University and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1990. She worked in mixed animal practice, shelter medicine and found her true calling in spay/neuter.
As Medical Director of Greenville Humane Society, she met the founder of Humane Alliance, what would later become the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance (ASNA), and trained the first veterinarian and support staff, eventually joining the organization full time as a staff veterinary surgeon in 2002. She has been instrumental in expanding ASNA’s training programs and expertly teaching veterinarians, veterinary students and HQHVSN clinic teams during her tenure at ASNA, as well as helping to establish the Veterinary Student Externship.
We dedicate this suite to Dr. Michelle Amtower in honor of her 23 years at the ASPCA, her commitment to the animals we serve and her contributions to the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance.
