ASPCA Animal Recovery Center
In New York City, the ASPCA works closely with the NYPD to provide shelter and care for animal victims of cruelty and neglect. Through the ASPCA Animal Recovery Center, our dedicated team of more than 45 sheltering, medical and animal behavioral professionals provide specialized medical and behavioral treatments to help animals recover from trauma and cruelty. This team also works closely with the ASPCA Animal Hospital and Adoption Center in NYC, as well as several other ASPCA teams that assist with cruelty and neglect, ensuring coordinated response and operations and holistic, balanced, high-quality care for the animals we serve.
The ASPCA Animal Recovery Center provides lifesaving veterinary care and behavioral assessments and treatments for both dogs and cats, many of whom are victims of neglect or cruelty. Our expert staff helps animals recover and heal from what can be severe physical and psychological trauma and provide treatments that help improve their quality of life to help them find loving homes.
