Topaz

Meet Topaz, a wonderfully gentle and goofy gal! She is a real gem who is ready to shuffle her way into your heart and home!
Topaz came to the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center (BRC) last December, after being rescued from a rural property where she was living with hundreds of other dogs. She’s now ready to find a home all her own!
Big fan of: Adventures, playtime and snuggles! Topaz really enjoys getting to spend time in quiet outdoor places with her favorite people and dog friends. When playing with other dogs, Topaz has an exuberant playstyle and can overwhelm smaller, mellower dogs. Topaz enjoys playing with stuffed toys and also loves being near her people. She will climb up next to you on a couch or bed to receive pets and affection.
Working on: Building up her confidence. Topaz can be a little nervous or shy with new people or places, but if you have a pocket full of tasty treats like cheese or chicken, she tends to warm up quickly and will soon ask for pets.
Dream home: A home where there is an opportunity to enjoy a fenced-in yard to spend time in, a park nearby to go for nice walks, or both! Topaz’s ideal adopter would be patient as she settles in. She would enjoy having a dog companion to play with in the home, but she would do well as an only dog too.
