Poppy

Poppy came to us from a local shelter as a stray, and she is now ready to find a home of her own! She is very sweet and playful with people she knows but can be shy when making new friends. With the help of some cheese, Poppy will be your BFF in no time!

Big fan of: Playtime! Poppy loves to play with other dogs and humans alike. She loves toys and playing tug, and she is great about sharing her toys with friends! She would likely make a great companion for outdoor adventures, too. She enjoys hiking and running, but her favorite outdoor activity is swimming! Poppy has shown her love of water by happily jumping into creeks, puddles and even our kiddy pool!

Working on: Her confidence. Poppy can be a bit fearful around new people and in new places, so going to a new home may be scary at first. Going on playdates or walks with other dogs can help her feel more comfortable and show off her playful, goofy self! Food is also a key to her heart, so she can be quick to warm up when there are treats involved! Poppy’s favorite snack is cheese, but healthier options like chicken treats are tasty too.

Dream home: One with another dog to be her playmate and show her the ropes of home living! Poppy may also do well as the only dog in the home if she has opportunities to play with other dog friends. She would also love to have plenty of toys and treats at her disposal. If it’s not too much to ask for, an in-ground pool would be extra awesome! She’d be thrilled to splash around in a kiddy pool, too.
