Lula

Lula came to us at the Behavioral Rehabilitation Center last September, and we have been getting to know her and helping her become the best dog she can be! After weeks of practicing the basics, such as walking on a leash, she finally started forming relationships with our staff. Now, she is a silly girl who loves to play, go on walks and even enjoys some gentle petting. This gentle soul is ready to find a loving home of her own!

Big fan of: Other dogs! Lula is a spry dog who still has lots of puppy energy in her, and she would love having another dog around to play with. While adjusting to life in her new home, a dog sibling would also help her learn the ropes. Lula also loves to play with toys and go on walks—she might become a great hiking buddy! Car rides used to make Lula very fearful, but with some practice and pharmaceutical support, she now enjoys riding to a fun destination.

Working on: Being shy about new people petting her. Lula has grown a lot during her stay with us, and we’ve learned that she loves food and quickly trusts anyone who gives her cheese! Though we can’t be certain about Lula’s past, it is likely that she has not lived in a home before. She will need a kind, patient adopter who is willing to give her the time and space she needs to adjust. Lula is still working on some obedience skills, but her food motivation is sure to make her a quick study, and she will soon perfect all her doggy manners.

Dream home: One with a family who will be understanding of Lula’s difficult past. She will benefit from an adopter who will help continue her training, but will also understand if she makes a mistake every once in a while. After all, nobody’s perfect. With some more practice, she might get pretty close to perfect, though!
