Sniffy

Sniffy is a fun-loving dude who is aptly named for his sharp sense of smell! After being found as a stray dog by a county animal shelter, he came to us at the Behavioral Rehabilitation Center to become the best dog he can be. Sniffy is ready for a home to call his own, especially one with another dog friend – or at least a home with lots of tasty treats!

Big fan of: Fun! It’s always a party when Sniffy is around. Whether he’s with his human or canine friends, he will always find a way to play. Even in his crate, he will throw a party with his toys! As a young hound pup, Sniffy has plenty of energy to spare, so playtime with other dogs is a great way to help him burn off that energy. He also loves treats and will be happy to work on his training with you, so long as he is rewarded handsomely with tasty treats. He’ll even jump in the car for a ride if you toss a treat in!

Working on: His doggy manners and confidence. With his most familiar human friends, Sniffy often greets them by jumping up and putting his front paws on their chest. He’s just so excited to see them! Here at the BRC, his friends like to reward him when he has all four paws on the floor – this helps him learn that when he’s not jumping up, he can get all the attention he wants. At the same time, Sniffy can be a little shy with new people, but he warms up quickly! He will continue to build his confidence in a new home, where he will make even more human friends!

Dream home: One that appreciates him and all of his adolescent hound personality! Sniffy would love to have a family who can match his energy, either by taking him for walks or playing with him in a yard. At first, he may need some time to adjust to living in a home. Once Sniffy opens up, he’ll have you laughing at his silly antics! You won’t know what you ever did without this sweet and silly companion in your life!
