Meet Ireland! Ireland came from a home with lots of other animals, and she is now ready to find a home to call her own! Weighing in at only six pounds, this little lady is as cute as can be. Despite her size, she truly has the biggest heart. After she’s given some time to warm up, she blossoms into the best snuggle buddy for movie nights – she just asks that you share the popcorn!

Big fan of: Snuggling with her people and socializing with other dogs! Ireland loves to hang out and play with dog friends, and when playtime is over, she’s ready for snuggle time! She loves soft blankets and cozy beds, especially tent-shaped ones with a roof. One of Ireland’s favorite snacks is cheese, but she won’t say no to chicken, either. She also likes to go on walks in a quiet neighborhood, especially if she can sniff around with a doggy pal!

Working on: Her confidence. Ireland can be a fearful pup, especially with new people or places, so moving into a new home might be scary. She has been staying in a foster home, and after an initial adjustment period, she has grown a lot in just a few short weeks! When she first came to us, she was quite scared of car rides, but she is doing much better now with some over-the-counter anti-nausea medicine. While she prefers to be held in someone’s lap, she has also ridden in a doggy car seat so that she is safe and contained. Ireland is also still learning the ropes of living in a normal home, so she’s learning commands and other obedience skills. Her ideal adopter would be ready and willing to continue reward-based training with her!

Dream home: One with a family who understands the joy of a soft, cozy blanket! They would also love to watch TV and cuddle with Ireland on the couch – this girl takes snuggle time seriously! Her new family would understand that a new home can be scary at first, so she may need some time to open up. Ireland is a special girl who is worth the wait!
