The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today announced the launch of the Moving Animals Places (MAP) program, an interactive and free Web-based map application that will help connect animal shelters across the country. Developed in collaboration with Fujitsu and using technology courtesy of salesforce.com, MAP is the first resource of its kind that allows participating shelters with surplus animals (sources) to find and partner with shelters that have available space and a higher demand for adoptable animals (destinations).

The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today announced that it has awarded a grant of $10,000 to the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA), which will be used to bolster its National Center for Prosecution of Animal Abuse (NCPAA) program that works to assist and train prosecutors and other professionals on the effective handling of animal abuse cases.

The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today announced that Canyon County Animal Shelter in Caldwell, Idaho is at the top of the leaderboard in Division Three of the 2013 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge, for sending 704 pets home during the first 30 days of the three-month competition; an increase of 267 lives saved over the same month last year.

The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today announced that 18,336 pets were adopted or reunited with their owners during the first month of the 2013 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge, a three-month competition where 49 animal shelters from across the country are working to increase adoptions in order to win a piece of the more than $600,000 in ASPCA prize grants, including a grand prize of $100,000.
